If your role involves service provision in the sector of homelessness in Nova Scotia, you are eligible to register and create a profile with Community Capacity Building. This includes everyone in Nova Scotia who is funded by Reaching Home, anyone whose position is supported by the NS Department of Opportunities and Social Development (OSD) to provide services for those experiencing homelessness, and potentially others such as United Way and Status of Women.

Good question! By registering and creating a profile, you'll be able to sign-up for in-person and online events in common sector training programs by licensed instructors of recognized training institutions. You will also have access to courses developed by Community Capacity Building, certificates for those courses, and supplementary learning materials.

It's super easy. Just click on the green 'Register' button below and complete the registration form so we can assess eligibility. We strongly recommend using your work email (if you have one) so you see correspondence from us during your work hours. Within the next 5 business days, you'll receive an email invite from Community Capacity Building to complete your account set-up and create a password. Depending on security settings of your email, this may land in a spam folder. Please check your spam/junk for an email from Community Capacity Building before re-submitting this form.

As your email address will count as your user name, it's only possible to receive notifications through one email address. If you work at multiple organizations, we suggest using the one where you work most often and/or can access the easiest.

If you were to move to a different service provider in the sector, you can keep your Podia account and maintain access to training certificates. In that case however, it is important to come back to your account with Podia, select settings, and change your email address. If you will no longer have access to your previous email account, please email capacitybuilding@ahans.ca and (with verification) we can change that for you.
